A Typical Day

An example of a typical day would be:

8:30 – 9:00 AM Free play– Book corner, Construction, Small world play, Home corner including Dressing up box, ICT equipment, Writing and drawing, Puzzles.

9:00 – 10:00 AM Focused activity– A craft or cookery activity to help promote children’s learning with a learning objective set.

9:30 – 10:00 AM Music and Movement/Drama session- Children are invited to take part in a drama based story or music and movement session.

10:00 AM Snack time- with children’s participation

Registration takes place at this time with small group table discussions

10:20 AM Circle/Storytime – Including topic discussion and light exercises/music

10:20 AM Extra-curricular– activities: French, Basketball/Football/Rugby

10:30 – 11:00 AM Focused activity– A science or maths activity to help promote children’s learning with a learning objective set

Other child initiated activities will also be available at this time (in & outdoors)

11:00 AM Outdoor Play/walk- Climbing frame/slide, Balls, Bikes etc.

11:00 AM Taget Time- Working with children on individual set targets.

11:40 AM Lunch– Weekly Menu is included in children’s diary books

12:15 PM Story timeIncluding action songs and rhymes/music

12:30 – 1:00 PM Free play– Book corner, Construction, Small world play, Home corner   including Dressing up box, ICT equipment, Writing and drawing, Puzzles, Interest Table (in & outdoors)

1:00 PM End of morning session, Start of afternoon session

1:30 – 1:30 PM Free play – Book corner, Construction, Small world play, Home corner   including Dressing up box, ICT equipment, Writing and drawing, Puzzles, Interest Table (in & outdoors)

1:30 – 2PM Taget Time- Working with children on individual set targets.

2PM – 2:15PM Refreshments -Drink and light refreshments

2:15 – 2:40 PM Outdoor Play/walk – Climbing frame, slide, balls, bikes etc.

2:15 – 2:40 PM Music and Movement/Drama– Children are invited to take part in a musical story or movement session.

2:30PM Focused activity – to help promote development with a learning objective.

3:00 -3:30PM Circle/Story time – Including action songs and rhymes/music

3:00 – 3:30 PM Focused activity– A science or maths activity to help promote children’s learning with a learning objective set (other child initiated activities will also be available at this time)

3:30 – 4:00 PM Tea time– with children’s participation.

4:00 – 4:30 PM Free play– Book corner, Construction, Small world play, Home corner including Dressing up box, ICT equipment, Writing and drawing, Puzzles (in or outdoors)

4:30 – 5PM Target time – Working with children on individual set targets.

5PM – 5:30 PM Free play- Book corner, Construction, Small world play, Home corner including Dressing up box, ICT equipment, Writing and drawing, Puzzles (in or outdoors)

5:30 PM Day Ends
