A Typical Day

This timetable gives you an overview of the layout of a typical day at our nursery.
Occasionally unplanned events may occur requiring a change in the routine to make the most of the eventuality.

8:30am – 11:45am Morning free play: book corner, construction, small world play, home corner including dress up box, ICT equipment, writing and drawing, puzzles

8:30am – 9:30am Focused activity: a fun planned activity to help promote children’s learning in various areas, with a set learning objective.

9:00am – 9:30am Musical communication activities: children are invited to take part in a drama
based story or music and movement session.

9:30am – 10:00am Snack time: social time to chat and encourage children’s participation.

10:00am – 10:15am Circle time / Phonics: Learning letter sounds through music or with visual aids. These activities promote turn taking and help build confidence.

10:15am – 11:30am Physical play: physical pursuits such as ride on toys, climbing frame, trampolining etc, these help promote fine and gross motor development

10:15 – 11:30am Focused activity: child led activities related to the current theme.

11:45am – 12:15pm Lunch: weekly menu is included in children’s diary books.

12:15pm – 12:45pm Songs & story time: Learning letter sounds through music or with visual aids. These activities promote turn taking and help build confidence.
